Dr. Jacob Ackerman Jacob Ackerman, MD, FACS
Dr. Ackerman received his M.D. degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. His ophthalmology training was completed at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Ackerman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.



Dr. Adam Lish Adam Lish, MD, FACS
Dr. Lish received his M.D. degree from the Boston University School of Medicine. His ophthalmic training was completed at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Lish did research and a glaucoma fellowship at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the SUNY Health Science Center of Brooklyn and has an adjunct appointment at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center of New York. Dr Lish has been an attending clinical instructor in Glaucoma at the Mount Sinai Medical Center for the past fifteen years and continues to teach other physicians. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Dennis Metz Dennis Metz, MD, FACS
Dr. Metz received his M.D. degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. His ophthalmology training was completed at the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.




Dr. Jacob C. Shafran Jacob C. Shafran, OD
Dr. Shafran, our Optometrist, is New York State Certified in Low Vision. He is an attending physician at Bronx Lebanon Hospital as well as an an eye care consultant to the NY State Office of Mental Health at Creedmoor Psychiatric Hospital. Dr. Shafran was trained at The State University of New York College of Optometry and completed an internship at the New York Lighthouse Association for the Blind. At SUNY, he won the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award. Dr. Shafran is a member of the AOA Low Vision and Contact Lens sections. He has been in practice for over twenty years and specializes in general eye care, contact lenses and low vision.
